THE SYMPTOMSThe historical record of what back pain has been suffered in the past will usually reveal an onset of back trouble many years previously. Perhaps only slight initially, or perhaps dramatic following some event. Childbirth is a common factor or it could be a fall or a car accident etc.. The amount of deterioration of the joint/s can often be determined in respect of the length of time since the first twinge, the age of the person, how active they are, their occupation and how often they have had trouble with their back and to what degree. As well as back pain created by the vertebrae, there could also be pains created by other joints in the body. Bearing in mind that the body is a collection of bones connected by joints. The symptoms of `back trouble and neck trouble' can be many and varied without giving any direct indication that the cause of the trouble is in the back (or neck). Bearing in mind of course that a `twisted vertebra' nipping a nerve is not necessarily the only cause: 'As a specific cause or disease can create many symptoms - a symptom can have many causes'. Thus the symptoms listed, must be considered along with any other symptoms and any history of previous trouble of a similar nature. The symptoms marked with an * are usually predominantly and directly associated with 'back trouble' or dysfunction of a bone joint. The other symptoms are usually identified as being very likely caused by a misalignment of the vertebrae when orthodox treatment has been unable to give any significant relief, within a short period, to a trouble which is not particularly specific. Many of the troubles can manifest themselves as quite a sharp pain as in Sciatica, but often it is usually a general soreness without any specific evidence of external injury, bruising or swelling. There are a few occasions when the nerves become almost traumatised and can give quite severe pain for many weeks before they eventually heal and quieten down. Fortunately it may be considered to be only a temporary condition. Cause-algia is the name given to this affliction where the nerves become hypersensitive and the lightest of touch on the skin can be very painful. There are also other (mainly pain) problems that can often be helped by the use of special techniques. For example - Hiatus Hernia and certain postural imbalances caused by joint dysfunction. Also pain under the kneecap caused by crepitation of the articulating surfaces - Chondria Malacia Patella - to give it it's full title, is easily sorted.
The common symptoms from top downwards are:-
And in general, Rheumatism and Arthritis. Not forgetting of course other symptoms such as Kyphosis, Lordosis, wear and tear, ‘It’s your weight/age/job’ etc.. The Kyphosis and Lordosis are usually just the body's adoption of a more comfortable posture. Sort the cause and these usually disappear. Hip joint pain, which is often just labeled as wear and tear, is very often created by the lower back being mis-aligned. The joints in the body are wearing all the time, but they are also being repaired by the body. There may be no pain in the lower back, but sufficient nerve disturbance can be created to upset the repair mechanism or create a direct trauma in the hip joint. The end result is usually a hip replacement which could have been avoided. The label of osteoarthritis is often used without appreciating that its cause is trauma. Very often the unspecified trauma is originating from nerves being disturbed in the back. Sort the cause and you thus sort the symptom. Top
